Lock and Key

"What is family? They were the people who claimed you. In good, in bad, in parts or in whole, they were the ones who showed up, who stayed in there, regardless. It wasn't just about blood relations or shared chromosomes, but something wider, bigger."

This is a story of a teenage girl who was left alone by her mother before she turned eighteen and had her sister, ten years older than her and spent ten years away from her, took her custody. Reluctant at first, Ruby started to realized what family meant to her even when her mom left her alone, and even when she had no idea why her sister left her to finish school and never came back for her.
She never felt what it is to be inside a home. to have a family she can call her own and to at least be dependent to someone knowing that someone would not try to leave her.

Ruby, found the keys to the locks she left unopened for a while before she knew her sister Cora and her husband Jamie. it took her for a while to let them help her search for the keys. she thought leaving them was easy, but everything after leaving was hard. she needed help, but she won't admit to herself. until she met Nate.

Will both of them allow themselves to help each other? will they see the meaning behind family ties? will they somehow reach the point of taking each others arms and hold them tight?

This is a story of family. these are just the things we have no choice of, and the only thing we need to do is to accept them and be thankful, that somehow they contribute to what we are right now.
